Welcome to the Sheffield Study Tour Blog
Countdown to Sheffield is on! In 16 days, over 40 students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will embark on adventure, where disciplines will unite over the study of place, culture and identity. Working in multi-disciplinary teams (English, History, Politics, Sociology, Planning and Community Development), students will examine the people, culture, history and urban form of Sheffield, from its origins in the industrial revolution, through its decline and subsequent regeneration in the late twentieth century. Students will discover the legacy of the world's most famous literary family at the Bronte Parsonage, uncover the secrets of its industrial past at the Kelham Island Museum, explore the re-birth of Sheffield's built environment...and much more. Stay tuned for updates and reflections in the coming weeks...
