...and the first couple of excursions have been amazing!
On Monday the
excursion to Leeds and York was wonderful. I absolutely loved York, I wish I
could move there! After we had finished at the railway museum, we headed over
to the Viking Museum. That was such a good choice it was amazing. They had a
re-constructed archaeological site under a glass floor, which I just found so
so interesting (I am an archaeology student though). They had also re-created
what they think a Viking village would have been like, and that was pretty cool
too. There were also some bones that had been found at a Viking site, and a few
other artefacts, overall it was just so fun.
Tuesday was a
pretty good day too. The Coal Mining museum was alright, but it was the Bronte
Parsonage which was the highlight of my day. I find it so surreal being able to
visit places with such a rich history such as the Bronte Parsonage. It’s
incredible to think that in that very house all those amazing pieces of
literature were produced. The town in which it was located was also very
beautiful, and just a typical British village which I loved
looking forward to the rest of the week, especially the trip to Manchester.
