Research day at the library

The local history section of the City Library is a maze of information. I can now be certain that the librarians recognise the Australian students. When I last went in there the lady on the front desk said “back again”. I came across this little gem while doing research on Cutlery:

Cutlers

I may train to be a chaser

But I wouldn’t have the skill

I may train to be a buffer

But I haven’t got the will

I may train to be a hammerman

But it might affect me ears

I may train to be a silversmith

But that would take me years

I may train to be a spinner

But there isn’t one required

I may train to be a stamper

But I’d have to wait till one retired

I Know , I’ll go into management

Then I’ll have no need to train,

I’ll just have an operation

For the removal of my brain.
